Most furniture we remove came into the room before something else did — a wall, a bannister, a narrower replacement door. Sectionals and sleeper sofas are the usual culprits, and they are the reason people give up and call us.
We dismantle in place where we have to. Legs off, backs separated, frames broken down if the piece is going for disposal anyway. Nothing is dragged across a floor or forced through a frame it will not fit.
A surprising amount of what people call junk is perfectly serviceable. Sound sofas, tables, dressers, bed frames and chairs go to local donation partners rather than a landfill, and organisations like the Habitat for Humanity ReStore network take exactly this sort of thing.

Mattresses and box springs need separate handling and cannot simply be tipped, so they are processed accordingly under Maryland Department of the Environment guidance. We take them regardless of condition.
